692 - Lions Embarrass Packers on Thursday Night Football

The Packers got rocked on Thursday Night Football. Who’s to blame? What’s to blame? Is this just something we’re going to have to get used to?

How did this game fall apart? (00:33)

After a first half where the Packers got beat in just about every way you can imagine, the second half was largely academic, even if the Packers got a little frisky down the stretch. How did things end up here? It’s more than just injuries, but not necessarily a lot more.

Three good things (7:37)

Despite the final score, the game wasn’t all bad. Jordan Love showed some good things, the Packers didn’t completely turtle in the second half, and Christian Watson made his return.

Three bad things (12:39)

Unfortunately, the Packers’ second-half friskiness was necessitated by their first-half somnolence. They got bludgeoned just about every which way you could imagine, and their inexperience showed. But on top of that, we got another letdown performance from Joe Barry, surprising everyone.

What does it mean? What happens next? (19:41)

Is this just one game? In theory, yes, but there are some larger issues here, starting with the Packers health. Fortunately, the arrow is probably pointing up in that respect.

Rookie review (22:25)

This was the most rookie-esque this draft class has looked, but injuries on the top end probably lowered the ceiling a bit. They still got solid performances from Jayden Reed and Karl Brooks, and Anders Carlson remains perfect.

David Bakhtiari’s end in Green Bay (24:52)

Finally, we got news pregame that David Bakhtiari is headed to injured reserve, and based on reporting from Ian Rapoport, it looks like this will probably be the end of his season — and probably his time in Green Bay.
