No Matter What Happens in Free Agency, Remember These Moments

Start preparing yourself emotionally now, because chances are you’re going to get some tough Packers news at some point this week.

The Packers have nearly a dozen free agents hitting the open market, and while I won’t discuss them all individually, it stands to reason that at least a few of them won’t be suiting up in Green and Gold next year.

That’s part of life in the NFL, but we don’t have to pretend like it’s fun.

Many of the names on the list have supplied more than their share of memorable moments over the past few seasons.

Remember that time in 2014 that Julius Peppers picked off that pass against the Vikings and ran it back for a touchdown?

Remember when Eddie Lacy rolled through opposing defenses like a bowling ball with free will?

Remember when Nick Perry almost ended the Andrew Luck era in Indianapolis (only to be unjustly flagged)?

Remember when Micah Hyde made that insane backhanded interception?

Remember when T.J. Lang told us exactly what he was thinking after the Fail Mary in 2012?

Remember Jared Cook’s toe tapping in Dallas to send the Packers to the NFC Title game?

Some of these players could be back in Green Bay next season. Some, perhaps many, won’t.

As news begins to trickle out about free agent signings, prepare yourself to be a little bit bummed out. It won’t be any fun to see some of these guys lined up for someone other than the Packers next year, but it won’t change anything about the great plays they provided while they were in Green Bay.
